Connect it to your router with an ethernet cable and plug it into power. A wired connection is preferred over Wi-Fi for recording stability. Location does not need to be visible — a closet or shelf near your router works fine.
If you are adding a 2.5" SATA SSD or HDD for longer retention, do it now, before powering the HomeBase up. Open the HomeBase 3 storage bay and seat the drive — no tools beyond opening the panel are required. You will format it inside the eufy app in a later step. Skip this step if you are starting on the built-in 16GB.
Available on iOS and Android. A eufy account is required for app access, but footage does not leave your HomeBase unless you explicitly enable cloud backup — which is off by default and should remain off for full privacy-first operation.
